He went by us running 130-135 mph. and with less than a 1/4 mile until the turn, he probably only slowed 15-20mph. before it happened.
I'll never forget it, could have been me, back in 2000 while racing a Bullet Bass Boat the hull on the Mirage let go running 105 mph. and mine hooked. That was the second time a tunnel hull had hooked on me at WOT, Pop-O's was the first back in the 90's.
We went most of the day with the thinking he was alive, it wasn't until Don was raising the boat the we heard he had passed.
