HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

TWAS THE NIGHT OF THANKSGIVING,
BUT I JUST COULDN'T SLEEP.
I TRIED COUNTING BACKWARDS,
I TRIED COUNTING SHEEP.

THE LEFTOVERS BECKONED -
THE DARK MEAT AND WHITE,
BUT I FOUGHT THE TEMPTATION
WITH ALL OF MY MIGHT.

TOSSING AND TURNING WITH ANTICIPATION,
THE THOUGHT OF A SNACK BECAME INFATUATION.
SO, I RACED TO THE KITCHEN, FLUNG OPEN THE DOOR,
AND GAZED AT THE FRIDGE, FULL OF GOODIES GALORE.
GOBBLED UP TURKEY AND BUTTERED POTATOES,
PICKLES AND CARROTS, BEANS AND TOMATOES.

I FELT MYSELF SWELLING SO PLUMP AND SO ROUND,
'TIL ALL OF A SUDDEN, I ROSE OFF THE GROUND.
I CRASHED THROUGH THE CEILING, FLOATING INTO THE SKY,
WITH A MOUTHFUL OF PUDDING AND A HANDFUL OF PIE.
BUT, I MANAGED TO YELL AS I SOARED PAST THE TREES....
HAPPY EATING TO ALL - PASS THE CRANBERRIES, PLEASE.

MAY YOUR STUFFING BE TASTY,
MAY YOUR TURKEY BE PLUMP.
MAY YOUR POTATOES 'N GRAVY HAVE NARY A LUMP.
MAY YOUR YAMS BE DELICIOUS.
MAY YOUR PIES TAKE THE PRIZE,
MAY YOUR THANKSGIVING DINNER STAY OFF OF YOUR THIGHS!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL

Thanks guys, good to see this thread TTT,

I will be traveling to Somerset and then Russel Springs for Dinner Turkey day. Hope everyone has a good and safe one. I actually get to take Friday off as well this year and am pretty excited as when I was in IT it was rare.

Maybe we should all post something we are thankful for.

I will start off that I am thankful to have a wife that loves me as much as she does and that we have been married 10 years this year.

Happy Thanksgiving to all, I'm Thankful to live in a country where lots of different opinions/ideas are allowed to be held without fighting in the Streets. I'm also very Thankful that hundreds of thousands of young men have volunteered to protect this way of life for all of us. :ymhug:

That too! But you didn't really ask what I was thankful for...but if you want to know...

I am thankful for my good friends and extended family, a husband that puts up with me, and 3 awesome kids. I am thankful for the years I had with my parents and my sister, and thankful for a stable career in these difficult financial times. I am thankful for access to the most awesome peaceful place on earth where I can go and chill and forget about life's stresses and bond with family and friends!

I am also thankful that presidental terms are only 4 yrs and thankful that there is an impeachment process!

John (Mr. re3too) and I (Barbara) wish you all a most blessed and safe Thanksgiving. We are spending the day with good friends (one was in the Austrian Navy after being arrested as a high school student dissident aginst Hitler and one who was a very poor German girl raised in the aftermath of WWII). They are the epitome of how through education and hard work, immigrants can become vital and productive citizens in the USA. We are thankful to live in such a country and pray that our core values will prevail (but we ain't holdin' our breaf! :( )

May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey be plump,
May your potatoes and gravy
Have never a lump.
May your yams be delicious
And your pies take the prize,
And may your Thanksgiving dinner
Stay off your thighs!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

E

Thanks for the Card. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. I'm thankful for so many things and one of them is the new friendships made down at the lake as a result of this and the other lake forums around the area. We got to meet a lot of new people this past year as well as spend time with the old friends too. Is it Summer yet?
