Police Say Woman Steals, Swallows Diamond Ring

Police say a ring theft went to a whole new level when the woman who stole it then swallowed it.
Police say on Tuesday a couple walked into The Castle in Richmond and were looking at a diamond ring valued at $3,300. Police say the couple switched the ring with another one, but when confronted, they took off.
Police say 30-year-old Melissa Jones was the culprit. They caught up with her after she was arrested on other charges. She was taken to the hospital for an x-ray, which confirmed the ring's location.
Jones is charged with receiving stolen property under $10,000. As for the ring, it has yet to be recovered.
