Re: Time to start yellin at Chillin
Hell, I don't have one (yet) but I can rent one if we get a big enough crew and we can tie them all up and cruise, drink, cruise, drink, drink... you get the picture!
Re: Time to start yellin at Chillin
Craig might be on to something! GH has a speical before 6/11 or after 9/12, rent for 3 days and get 1/2 price gas or 2 free days rental... might be worth considering!

Someone should also check with Ship for Brains to see if he would be interested in hitching up along side.

Just don't do it the weekend of the 24th as we will be in Chicago getting "Looped"! If no one has done this you have missed a great boat outing. It is a 75 mile loop of Chicago by boat through downtown and out into Lake Michigan back through town. We did it last year and it is AWESOME!

If you are referring to my post about the Chicago Loop Cruise, we were on a 27' Baja last year. There were boats from 17' through 40' that did it. It is open to anyone, but they do limit the number of boats to around 100. There were about 65 boats last year and about 300 people.

Re: Time to start yellin at Chillin
The last one I did we had 35 folks on the $pare Change. Everybody threw in a few bucks for gas and also brought something for all to eat. Very little cost to the captain. We cruised for about an hour then beached. Partied for a few hours, then started back to the dock. It was a fantastic day.Islander_212 wrote:I can add to the bribes and will throw in fuel money too! It was a great time. They headquarter at a Doubletree Suites I think it was that has a nice restaurant and bar and we all keep the boats right there at the hotel. They have security that patrols to keep things safe. I towed Pat Bates 27' Baja from Louisville up to Chicago. It was myself, Kimberly, Pat and another fellow Shaner from up around Chicago road with us. We tailgated out there fairly late in the evening Friday night and headed to the ramp on the Cal-Sag Channel early Saturday morning. From there we head Southwest to the Chicago River, turn north and go through the locks into Lake Michigan. We stopped and had lunch in Dusable Harbor and then headed South to enter the locks back into the Cal- Sag Channel to the ramp. It's about a 75 mile loop and takes almost all day to do it. If the weather is bad and Lake Michigan is blowing they do the half loop up to the locks and back.
Here is the web site...

Spare, I'm just kidding about the bribes. I don't need them. I want to do the cruise regardless. We'll get it done.Spare Change wrote:The last one I did we had 35 folks on the $pare Change. I auctioned it off on all 3 forums. The money went to the Elks Children's Fund. I can't remember who bought it. But is on the lake somewhere! Maybe we should put out an APB, to see who has it.

Chillin, we know you're kidding, but we're not. It is only fair that us hangers on pitch in and take care of all the expenses to take a bunch of yayhoos out on the lake.Just Chillin wrote: Spare, I'm just kidding about the bribes. Re: Time to start yellin at Chillin
Jason.. aka Waterboy is the proud new owner of the pole! Maybe we can get him to join us for the cruise! If memory serves me right (which with my memory is quesitonable) he has moved back to GH. For those of you who werent around back for Spare's BD cruise we colleted money for his BD gift... yes a pole... the funny thing was I was the one who went to get it... I purchased it at the mall... it was in a round tube with a pole and dancer on it... it didn't fit in a bag so I had to carry it through the mall.. needless to say it was halarious!!!!
Im not sure which was funnier, me carrying it through the mall or ole $pare opening it for his BD!

Well thanks Suze! re3too, we can't beat that offer with a stick I have a little studying to do, it's in the air that I have to go to D.C. with the boys again this year, and it's alot of OT just to get ready for it (not even exactly sure when it is yet, early may... ) )
