Poker Run Weekend, September 11th & 12th
We Need Your Help to Keep our Poker Runners Safe! Please leave in time to get in place for viewing the poker run and allow time for the water to settle down. Large waves and rollers from spectator boats can create dangerous water for high speed boats. Please do not operate at speeds that create large wakes around the starting times. The Poker Run boats will leave around 10:00 on Saturday and will return for lunch around noon.
During these times, please be courteous and keep your wakes to a minimum from State Dock to the east. After lunch, there is no organized start. They will travel to Camp Earl Wallace then west to Grider Hill and then the Poker Run is officially over and many will go to Harmon Creek for a raft up. Please give the guys plenty of room to run and nice smooth and safe water!
Pick up Your Wrist Bands Now: Slip Customers will receive free wrist bands for entry of owners and guests who are staying on your boat (6 each for Houseboat slips and 4 each for Cruiser slips) You may pick up your wrist bands at the rental counter any time before Saturday night.
Please do not take more wrist bands than needed and do not give extra bands away to others. We attempt to make this a free event for slip customers but this privilege has been abused in the past by giving them to people other than overnight guests of the slip customer. Your help with this rule will enable us to keep this privilege year after year.
Friday: Bill Kingery will be in action once again with his amazing sound system and light show on the Party Barge as the Poker Runners settle in for the Weekend festivities. Walk the docks, check out the boats and enjoy the party atmosphere on Boatel Row.
Dancing on the State Dock Party Barges until all hours!
Saturday: POKER RUN DAY! The Lake Cumberland Poker Run begins at 10:00 CST. After the morning run to Burnside, the runners return to State Dock for lunch and then back on the water with the last stop at Grider Hill. Many of the participants will then go to Harmon Creek for a post run raft up.
Live entertainment will begin at 8:00PM CST featuring Caught Red Handed. Bill Kingery and the Party Barge will also be in action. Entrance to the Post-Run Party will be $20 for those that do not have a wrist band. The restaurant is reserved from 6:00 to 7:30 for the Poker Run banquet and awards. Please leave tables available for Poker Run participants during these hours.
Alcohol & Law Enforcement
Don’t test our law enforcement officers. Keep all alcoholic beverages in a cup or Coozie. Cups are the best option. Please show respect to the Water Patrol and don’t flaunt alcohol and force them to take action. Also, just a reminder that the Poker Run party can be get a little crazy late on Saturday. Just keep that in mind when considering having the children around all the festivities on Saturday night. Other than slip customers, visitors must be 21 to enter the Poker Run Party.
The Water Patrol is planning to be in the harbor on Friday and Saturday night. Also, in the past, there have been road blocks on Park Road to check for drinking and driving. Please do not drink and drive. Your chances of getting caught this weekend are the highest they will ever be!
